GloHTAP presents Channeling Art II!
A special group art exhibition to benefit
GloHTAP's 2006 - 2007 season!

April 8, 2006

Global Heritage Theater Arts Project (GloHTAP) is pleased to present a special group exhibition of multi-media works on paper and canvas titled, “Channeling Art II”, featuring artists Nadïne LaFond, Eveyln Graves, Beverly McCutcheon and GloHTAP founder, Ahmondylla Best on Saturday, April 29, 2006, 2PM-6PM at the Burgdorff Cultural Center.

Channeling Art II represents works of art inspired during a workshop of the same name, conducted in 2003 by fellow artist Nadïne LaFond. Guided visualization was used as a tool toward discovering personal symbolism. Each of the four artists has not only developed different approaches to collage and mixed media techniques but also meaningful friendships. Their work employs symbols resulting from the workshop to help express each artist’s point of view. The symbols include butterflies, cages, cornucopias, eggs, pathways, trees and windows as well as the four elements of nature. Nadïne, Ahmondylla, Evelyn and Beverly hope to emphasize a sense of interdependence among the creative communities which, they believe, is essential to the strength of those communities. Channeling Art II is the second exhibit in which these four artists have shown together.

The public is welcomed to attend the exhibit & sale on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2PM as well as a special open rehearsal of “Ahmondylla Best & Wogbledoe”, a performance troupe influenced by African, African-American, Latin, Caribbean and Indigenous Nations musical traditions, to begin at 4PM. Works of art are available for purchase and partial proceeds will support GloHTAP¹s 2006 / 2007 season.
